Role of Science and Technology in Pakistan

In the beginning, when Pakistan came into being, we had extremely limited resources. Most of the daily necessities were imported from other countries. We were so far behind in science and technology that there was not even a bicycle or a ventilator made. By God's grace, motorcycles, cars, tractors and even boats are now being manufactured in Pakistan.

There is no doubt that this is the age of science and technology. No progress on this no country can maintain the stability of true independence. It always depends on others when it comes to his needs.

We have achieved greater success in the medical sector. In modern diagnostics, Ultrasound, common are CT Scan, ECG, MRI and in modern treatment modalities surgery of vital body parts angiography, angioplasty etc. There is also progress in laser treatment while radiotherapy is also on the way to success.

The development of agriculture is quite evident. In the past, when cultivation was carried out by plows but now almost everyone cultivates using tractors and modern equipment. The efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture to provide good seeds for good production is appreciable. Now many universities are associated with this department.

Obvious progress is being made in sectors such as sugar, cement, glass and ceramics.

Sports items, surgical instruments and handmade carpets made in Pakistan are very popular in the world. The use of optical fiber to improve the communication system has placed us among the advanced countries. In engineering, next to heavy equipment, cottage industry plays an exemplary role.

After achieving uranium enrichment, Pakistan conducted a nuclear test and proved it to the world that it has full defense capability. Pakistan does not lag behind its opponent in the production of long-range missiles, tanks and ships.
