Warner Bros. Discovery plans to make an online series based on 'Harry Potter'

Warner Bros. Discovery is set to sign a deal to produce an online series based on the Harry Potter franchise.

Film adaptations are reportedly planned for each book in the series — one for each season. Therefore, the series can have seven seasons. It is said that J. Rowling, author of Harry Potter, is joining the project to keep the source material faithful, but will not serve as one of the original creators.

Warner Bros. Discovery is hoping the Harry Potter series will be part of the foundation of its new distribution strategy, which is set to be unveiled next week. Company representatives declined to comment on news related to the project.
